Assam Leads Northeastern States in National Highway Development
Assam has emerged as the leader in National Highway (NH) development in the Northeast, with the highest number of projects and the longest road network under construction. The state has received Rs 39,239 crore in investment, the largest in the region. Assam also secured the highest NH development allocation of Rs 5,329 crore, surpassing Arunachal Pradesh (Rs 3,488 crore), Manipur (Rs 1,508 crore), Nagaland (Rs 1,227 crore), and Tripura (Rs 514 crore). Arunachal Pradesh has significant future projects worth Rs 43,322 crore, with ongoing NH projects in the region set for completion by 2028.
