Ex-AASU Leader Sankor Jyoti Baruah Arrested for Alleged Assault

Former AASU general secretary Sankor Jyoti Baruah was arrested in Dibrugarh for allegedly assaulting petrol pump workers in Duliajan. Police registered a case under the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita and picked him up for questioning. Baruah denied the charges, calling them a conspiracy. He had earlier resigned from AASU in 2023 following allegations of sexual harassment by a law student.
