FM Sitharaman Assures Full Support to Assam’s Economic Growth
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman assured Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma of full support for the state’s economic growth. During a meeting in Delhi, Sarma outlined plans to achieve a ₹10 lakh crore GSDP by 2027-28. He also met Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan regarding the new IIM Guwahati campus. Sarma is on a six-day visit to Delhi, set to meet several key ministers and attend the NITI Aayog meeting and BJP’s Chief Ministers’ meet. He will also join the ‘Rising North East Investors Summit’ and meet industry leaders. Meanwhile, the Centre has floated the ₹600.51 crore tender for the Jorhat-Majuli Bridge.
