Assam to Enforce 5 km Ban on Cow Sacrifice Near Religious Sites During Eid

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced a new SOP to ban cow sacrifice within 5 km of religious sites during Eid. The move follows rising incidents of severed cow heads found near temples and naamghars. The CM blamed poor enforcement of the Assam Cattle Preservation Bill and called such acts communal conspiracies. Strict implementation will follow to prevent further desecration and maintain communal harmony.
