Landslide Halts Lumding–Badarpur Rail Link; Restoration Underway

Train services on the Lumding–Badarpur section remain suspended after a landslide damaged 100 metres of track. Triggered by heavy rain, the landslide severed a key link to Barak Valley and Tripura. Over 25 machines and 200 workers are engaged in urgent repairs. Restoration may take a week, weather permitting. Senior officials are monitoring the situation, and passengers are advised to follow official updates. A joint action plan has been launched to speed up work.
