BJP Slams Akhil Gogoi Over Dhubri Eviction Site Visit

The Assam BJP criticized Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi for visiting the Dhubri eviction site, accusing him of supporting “suspicious individuals” over indigenous rights. Nearly 3,000 bighas of land were cleared for industrial use, triggering political tension. Gogoi called the eviction illegal and was later detained. BJP leaders, including CM Sarma, defended the drive, accusing Congress and Gogoi of protecting illegal migrants. The government has sanctioned Rs 50,000 and 300 bighas for affected families.
