Assam to Appoint Retired Teachers in Model Colleges from August 1

The Directorate of Higher Education, Assam, has directed four model colleges to appoint retired teachers in each department from August 1, 2025, to ensure smooth academic operations. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said the move aims to attract students by balancing fresh and experienced faculty, addressing low enrolment due to lack of seasoned teachers.
