AJP Accuses CM Sarma of Endangering Assamese Identity for Political Gains

The Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) accused CM Himanta Biswa Sarma of pushing the Assamese community into crisis through divisive politics to protect his career. At a Guwahati press meet, AJP leaders Lurinjyoti Gogoi and Jagadish Bhuyan alleged BJP’s unfulfilled promises, misuse of the foreigners’ issue, and vote bank politics, including aiding illegal immigrants. They demanded full implementation of the Assam Accord, a deportation treaty with Bangladesh, NRC completion, Clause 6 enforcement, and introduction of the Inner Line Permit system.
