Assam to Provide Masoor Dal, Sugar, and Salt at Subsidized Rates from October

From October 2025, ration card holders in Assam will receive masoor dal, sugar, and salt at subsidized rates under a new state initiative. The scheme begins in 10 districts on October 1 and expands to 25 districts, including Kamrup (M), from November. NAFED will supply the items for distribution through fair price shops along with regular PDS grains. Minister Kaushik Roy urged transparent distribution to ensure benefits reach the needy.
