Goalpara POCSO Court Sentences Man to Life Imprisonment for Assaulting Minor

Goalpara: The Special POCSO Court in Goalpara has sentenced Mominul Islam to life imprisonment for sexually assaulting a minor girl in 2021 under Agia police station. The judgment was delivered by District and Sessions Judge and Special POCSO Court Judge Utpal Rajkhowa.

According to the case, the accused allegedly assaulted the girl on the pretext of a relationship. The incident came to light after the minor became pregnant, following which her parents lodged a police complaint. The court also imposed a ₹10,000 fine, with an additional three months’ imprisonment if the fine is not paid.
