Parties Announce Candidate Lists as BTC Polls Heat Up

With just 22 days left for the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections, political parties have stepped up preparations, releasing fresh lists of candidates.
The ruling UPPL unveiled its second list of 16 nominees, featuring party president Pramod Boro from Goibari along with senior leaders and new faces. The Congress declared 37 candidates, signaling a push to expand its base, while the BPF released 10 names in its second list. The APB, a newer outfit, announced eight candidates as it seeks to emerge as an alternative force.
With UPPL, Congress, BPF, APB, BJP, and others fielding candidates, the elections are set to be a high-stakes multi-cornered contest.
