Tribal Groups Hold Protest in Morigaon

The Morigaon District Tribal Sangha, along with several tribal organisations, staged a massive rally on Tuesday. Protesters submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister demanding inclusion of the Tiwa Autonomous Council in the Sixth Schedule, eviction of encroachers from tribal land, rehabilitation of landless families, land rights under the Forest Rights Act, and protection of tribal belts from industrial projects.
