Sivasagar Food Dept Officer Caught Taking Bribe, Arrested

The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam, on Wednesday arrested Naguib Khan, Superintendent of Food, Public Distribution & Consumer Affairs, Sivasagar, while accepting a bribe of ₹8,000 in his office. Khan had allegedly demanded ₹20,000 to process bills for a co-operative society, later reducing it to ₹8,000. A trap was laid after the complainant reported the demand, and the tainted money was seized. A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered, and further legal action is underway.
