Poll-Related Violence Erupts in Chirang, BPF Worker Critically Injured

Tension flared in Chirang’s Nichima constituency on Sunday night after over 100 miscreants attacked the BPF office at Ipuali Dombru Bazar. Three BPF vehicles were vandalised and two people assaulted, including worker Sansuma Brahma (26), who was critically injured with a head blow. BPF accused rival UPPL candidate Ranjit Basumatary’s supporters of orchestrating the attack and demanded arrests. The incident followed recent clashes in Kokrajhar’s Baukhungri constituency, further intensifying poll-related violence in the region.
