Bihar Counting Begins Amid Tight Security; Early Trends Show Strong NDA Lead

Vote counting began this morning for all 243 Bihar Assembly seats after a record 67.13% turnout. The results will determine whether Nitish Kumar continues as Chief Minister or the Mahagathbandhan ushers in a change. Counting is underway across 46 centres under strict security and CCTV monitoring.

Latest updates show Tej Pratap Yadav facing a major setback in Mahua, where he has slipped to fourth place with just over 2,100 votes. LJP(RV) candidate Sanjay Kumar Singh is leading by more than 12,800 votes, followed by RJD’s Mukesh Kumar Raushan and AIMIM’s Amit Kumar.

By 11:45 am, the NDA had surged ahead with 188 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan trailed at 51. Early trends indicate a sweeping mandate for the Nitish-led alliance as the counting progresses.
