CM Alleges Conspiracy Behind Zubeen Garg’s Death as SIT Nears Chargesheet

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has alleged a conspiracy to keep singer Zubeen Garg intoxicated for financial exploitation, days before the SIT submits its chargesheet against seven accused. He said investigators found that Garg was not a habitual drinker and was made to consume alcohol by close associates to manipulate him. The CM criticised the narrative linking alcohol to Garg’s legacy, urging youth to honour him through social service. With the Centre granting required sanction for offences committed abroad, the SIT aims to file the chargesheet by December 10 after examining forensic evidence and over 100 witnesses.
