Dhubri Medical College Marks AMR Awareness Week with One Health Programme

Dhubri Medical College observed World Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Awareness Week 2025 with a scientific programme on AMR and zoonoses under the One Health approach. Experts highlighted the rising threat of antimicrobial resistance and the need for coordinated action across medical, veterinary and environmental sectors.

Speakers discussed national zoonosis control efforts, district-level AMR status, and the growing challenge of multidrug-resistant infections. The event called for stronger surveillance, responsible antibiotic use and improved public awareness.

As part of the observance, DMCH also held a 5 km run, quiz and poster competitions for students and staff.
