Two More ULFA-I Cadres Surrender in Arunachal Pradesh

Two ULFA-I cadres, identified as Baan Axom and Astitva Axom, surrendered to Assam and Arunachal Pradesh Police in Namsai district on Tuesday, nearly ten days after senior leader Arunoday Axom laid down arms. Police recovered a rifle, ammunition, and magazines from them.
Both were reportedly part of the Myanmar-based camp led by Arunoday Axom and fled on November 27 to surrender. Security forces have intensified operations after the October 17 Kakopathar ambush, leading to multiple arrests and surrenders.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma earlier stated that any peace talks with ULFA-I would require the involvement of its chief, Paresh Barua.
