NFR Employees’ Union Convention Opposes Railway Privatisation

The 38th annual convention of the Northeast Frontier Railway Employees’ Union concluded on Wednesday, with members raising grievances and strongly opposing the Central government’s push for railway privatisation.
All-India general secretary Dr. Raghav Bhai warned that privatisation would harm employees and create major difficulties for passengers nationwide. NF Railway Employees’ Union general secretary Munindra Saikia cited the recent IndiGo crisis as a cautionary example of potential chaos.
The convention ended with a unified call for the government to halt privatisation plans in the interest of railway workers and travellers.
