Sonowal Highlights Namrup Fertiliser Project Ahead of PM’s Assam Visit

Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said the upcoming fourth unit of the Namrup fertiliser plant will boost Assam’s economy and help the Northeast compete globally. Inspecting preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public meeting at Namrup on December 21, Sonowal said the foundation stone laying would mark a new phase of development for the region. He credited the Prime Minister for approving the long-pending project and noted that the Namrup rally would also signal the start of the Assembly election campaign in Upper Assam. Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to visit Assam on December 20–21.
