PM Modi, Amit Shah to Visit Assam for Major Development Programmes Ahead of 2026 Polls

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will undertake a series of visits to Assam later this month, signalling an intensified development and political outreach ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections.

On December 20, PM Modi will inaugurate the new terminal at Guwahati airport, unveil a statue of Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi, and attend meetings with BJP leaders. He will also visit the Brahmaputra inland waterways terminal, interact with students during Pariksha Pe Charcha on a ferry journey, pay homage at the Assam Movement Martyrs’ Memorial, and travel to Dibrugarh to review key projects, including the Namrup fertiliser plant expansion.

Amit Shah will visit Assam on December 29 to inaugurate development works at Batadrava and Borduwa, launch a state-wide CCTV project, and open new cultural infrastructure. The visits highlight the BJP’s focus on infrastructure, culture, and governance in the run-up to the 2026 elections.
