Gauhati University Introduces Common Entrance Test for UG Law Courses from 2026

Gauhati University on Friday announced the introduction of a Common Entrance Test for admission to undergraduate law programmes across all its affiliated law colleges, starting from the 2026 academic year.

The university will centrally conduct and monitor admissions for courses such as three-year LLB and five-year integrated law programmes, ensuring transparency, uniformity, and strict adherence to merit and reservation norms. GU has asked principals of affiliated law colleges to cooperate for smooth implementation of the new system.
