AASU Blocks Road in Nazira Demanding Reconstruction of Dhodar Ali

The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) staged a road blockade in Nazira town on Friday, demanding the immediate reconstruction of the historic Dhodar Ali. The protest began around 11 a.m., with activists occupying the main road and raising slogans against the government.

AASU alleged that despite the road’s historical importance, authorities have failed to take concrete steps for its repair, leading to prolonged neglect. The blockade caused temporary disruption to traffic, while the organisation warned of intensified protests if reconstruction work does not begin soon.
