PM Modi to Visit Assam on January 17–18, Launch Key Infrastructure and Connectivity Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Assam on January 17–18, with programmes focusing on culture, infrastructure and connectivity. He will arrive in Guwahati on January 17 and attend a mega Bagurumba dance performance at Sarusajai Stadium.
On January 18, Modi will address a public rally at Kaliabor in Nagaon district and lay the foundation stone for a 34.5-km elevated corridor from Kaliabor to Bokakhat through Kaziranga National Park, a ₹6,957-crore project aimed at improving travel time and reducing wildlife fatalities.
The Prime Minister will also flag off two new train services—Dibrugarh–Gomti and Guwahati–Rohtak—and the Kolkata–Guwahati Vande Bharat sleeper train.
Meanwhile, the Assam Cabinet approved land allocation for the Bodo Sahitya Sabha in Guwahati and cleared land allotments under Mission Basundhara 2.0.
