Assam CM Says Details on Alleged Links of Gaurav Gogoi with Pakistan to Be Revealed Soon

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday said documents related to alleged links between state Congress president Gaurav Gogoi and Pakistan would be made public by the end of January. He said officials were finalising the papers and the disclosure would happen soon.
Sarma also raised questions over the British citizenship of Gogoi’s wife and children, stating such issues go beyond electoral politics and concern national security. He said the matter was delayed earlier due to the death of cultural icon Zubeen Garg in September.
The state government had formed a Special Investigation Team to probe alleged interference by Pakistani national Ali Tauqeer Sheikh. While Gogoi has rejected the allegations as baseless, Sarma claimed the findings point to a larger conspiracy and would be revealed shortly.
