APCC Launches ‘Raijor Padulit Raijor Congress’ Campaign, Begins Save MGNREGA Movement

The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee on Saturday launched the ‘Raijor Padulit Raijor Congress’ campaign in Guwahati, under the initiative of the Pradesh Congress Election Manifesto Committee. The two-day programme began with consultations with various organisations to gather inputs for the party’s manifesto.

The Congress also launched the nationwide “Save MGNREGA Movement,” opposing the NDA government’s move to amend the MGNREGA Act. On the first day, district-level press conferences were held across Assam.

The party announced a series of protests in the state, including dharnas at block offices on January 12, panchayat-level awareness campaigns on January 17, and a statewide dharna on January 30, to continue until the proposed law is withdrawn.
