Guwahati Jal Board Launches Special Water Quality Testing Drive

The Guwahati Jal Board has started a special water quality testing drive across all District Metered Areas to ensure the safety of drinking water supplied to consumers. The drive, which began on January 9, will continue till January 12, 2026.

As an additional preventive measure beyond routine testing, trained Jal Sakhis, along with DMA engineers, are conducting household-level tests under technical supervision. The Jal Board said the initiative aims to strengthen monitoring, boost public confidence, and reaffirm its commitment to providing safe potable water. Consumers have been urged to cooperate and contact the Jal Board helpline for any concerns.
