Assam Assembly Budget Session to Begin on February 16, 2026

The Budget Session (Vote on Account) of the Assam Legislative Assembly will commence on February 16, 2026, following a notification issued by Assembly Secretary Dulal Pegu. Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya has formally summoned the session to meet at 9.30 am at the Assembly Chamber in Dispur.

As Assembly elections are expected in March–April 2026, the state government will present a Vote on Account instead of a full budget for 2026–27. The duration of the session will be decided by the Business Advisory Committee.
