PM Modi Likely to Visit Assam on February 14 for Key Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Assam on February 14 to inaugurate major infrastructure and connectivity projects, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said. The proposed visit includes inauguration of the Guwahati–North Guwahati bridge, the IIM Guwahati campus, and flagging off 100 electric buses.

The Chief Minister also indicated a possible second visit later in February, during which the Prime Minister may lay foundation stones for the Kokrajhar–Gelephu railway line, a railway coach manufacturing unit in Kokrajhar, and the Rs 22,000-crore Guwahati–Silchar express highway. The state government is coordinating with the Centre to finalise the schedule and arrangements.
