Hoax Bomb Threats Sent to Two Guwahati Schools Ahead of Republic Day

Two schools in Guwahati received hoax bomb threat emails on the day of Saraswati Puja, triggering brief panic, police said. The emails were sent to DPS Ahomgaon and Sanskriti The Gurukul School, following which authorities alerted the police.

Police and Bomb Disposal Squad teams conducted thorough searches and confirmed the threats were fake. Deputy Commissioner of Police Numal Mahatta said investigations are underway to trace the sender, adding that the incident appeared to be a mischief attempt to create panic ahead of Republic Day.
