NCB Seizes Drugs Worth ₹43 Crore in Guwahati, Arrests Two Traffickers

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Guwahati, seized over 53 kg of methamphetamine/WY tablets worth approximately ₹43 crore in the illicit market and arrested two alleged drug traffickers from Manipur. Acting on intelligence inputs, officers intercepted two trucks and recovered the contraband from specially concealed cavities inside their fuel tanks. The investigation indicates that the consignment originated from Myanmar, with efforts underway to trace the wider trafficking network.

In a separate operation, the NCB apprehended six wanted accused during a special fortnight-long drive targeting absconders in NDPS cases. The arrested individuals hail from Assam, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura. The agency said it would continue coordinated operations with law enforcement agencies to dismantle drug trafficking networks and identify their financial and logistical links.
