BJP to Hold Statewide Rallies Against Rahul Gandhi’s ECI Criticism

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the BJP would organise peaceful rallies at district headquarters across the state from October 13 to 31, accusing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of undermining constitutional institutions through his criticism of the Election Commission of India (ECI). Sarma also criticised the Congress for opposing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
The announcement came as Rahul Gandhi prepared to lead an INDIA bloc protest march in New Delhi against the functioning of the ECI, calling for greater accountability and the protection of democracy. Sarma said the BJP’s rallies would express support for constitutional institutions and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047.
