Assam to Use Only Government Teachers for 2026 Board Exam Invigilation

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that only government school teachers will serve as invigilators for the 2026 HSLC and Higher Secondary examinations. The exams will be held exclusively in government schools to ensure fairness, accountability, and stronger administrative control. Sarma said recent and upcoming teacher recruitments will prevent any manpower shortage. He added that the decision is crucial as the exams will coincide with elections, limiting regular monitoring. The government reiterated its commitment to free, fair, and transparent examinations.
