Gauhati University Hosts First Kaliram Medhi Memorial Lecture

Gauhati University organised the first annual Kaliram Medhi Memorial Lecture on Wednesday to honour Pandit Kaliram Medhi, a pioneer of Assamese linguistics. The event was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta, with the keynote address delivered by noted academic Jyotiprakash Tamuli. Organised by the Department of Assamese, the programme also saw Jasmin Choudhury, GU’s 2025 M.A. Assamese topper, receive the Kaliram Medhi Memorial Award.
