Umrangso Sees Massive Rally Against Alleged Sale of Tribal Land

Hundreds of people staged a protest rally in Umrangso on Saturday against the alleged transfer of tribal land and natural resources to private corporates under the Sixth Schedule. Organised by the Congress, APHLC, and united opposition parties, the rally marched through the town and submitted a memorandum to the Governor. Opposition leaders warned that corporate entry would threaten tribal rights and identity, demanding strict enforcement of constitutional safeguards.
