CM Inaugurates Star Cement Unit in Cachar, Boost to Barak Valley Industry

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday inaugurated Star Cement’s Cachar unit at Bihara, calling it a major boost to industrial growth in the Barak Valley. The greenfield plant has a capacity of 2 million tonnes annually and is the region’s first private cement unit with its own railway siding. The project is expected to generate jobs and strengthen the local economy. The CM also highlighted the transformation of Guwahati airport, which will open as a world-class facility from February 22.
