Assam Congress Workers Flag Ticket Row, Move High Command Over Laharighat MLA

Infighting has surfaced within the Assam Congress ahead of the Assembly elections, with party workers from Laharighat moving the high command over candidate selection. In a memorandum to AICC leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the workers accused sitting MLA Dr. Ashif Md. Nazar of proximity to BJP leaders and alleged he supported the BJP during key elections. They urged the party to review the allegations and take a decision in the party’s interest before finalising the candidate for the constituency.
