AASU Demands Probe Over Alleged Pressure on Students to Join BJP Yatra

The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) has demanded an investigation into allegations that students of Sati Sadhani University in Golaghat were pressured to attend the BJP’s “Jana Ashirwad Yatra.”

AASU president Utpal Sarma said students cannot be forced to participate in any political programme and called for action against those responsible for allegedly threatening students with absence penalties.

He also accused some individuals of trying to turn educational institutions into “political laboratories” and urged authorities not to compel students to attend party events. Meanwhile, the BJP’s Jana Ashirwad Yatra entered its eighth day, continuing through several districts in Assam.
