Congress Unveils 5 Guarantees in Assam Poll Manifesto

The state Congress on Sunday released its Assembly election manifesto in Assam, highlighting five key guarantees during a rally led by Mallikarjun Kharge in Nowboicha.

Kharge said the manifesto was people-driven and focused on welfare, social security, and indigenous rights. Major promises include ₹50,000 financial aid for women entrepreneurs, ₹25 lakh cashless health insurance per family, and permanent land pattas for 10 lakh indigenous people.

The party also pledged ₹1,250 monthly support for senior citizens and assured justice in the Zubeen Garg case within 100 days.

Targeting the ruling government, Kharge accused Himanta Biswa Sarma of fear-based politics and centralised power, urging voters to support Congress for change in the upcoming elections.
