Ajmal Predicts Defeat for Himanta Biswa Sarma Ahead of Assam Polls

With just over a week remaining for the Assam Assembly elections, Badruddin Ajmal on Monday predicted that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma would face defeat after the results.
Launching a sharp attack, Ajmal accused the BJP-led government of targeting minority communities and using divisive rhetoric, particularly against “miyas.” He said such politics was harmful and distracted from development goals.
Contesting from the Binnakandi seat, Ajmal expressed confidence in a strong performance by the All India United Democratic Front in the April 9 polls.
He emphasized key campaign issues including education, land rights, political representation, healthcare, NRC, and infrastructure projects.
Ajmal also indicated a possible alliance with Asaduddin Owaisi, stating that their combined efforts could strengthen their position.
Despite health issues limiting his campaign visits, Ajmal said party workers remain active and expressed hope for electoral success.
