NFR Introduces AI-Based Communication System at Railway Level Crossings

The Northeast Frontier Railway has introduced a new optical fibre cable-based communication system at 50 level crossing gates to enhance safety and monitoring.
The Integrated Voice-cum-Data Communication System, already operational at Senchoa and Barpathar stations, enables Station Masters to track gate operations in real time from control rooms.
The system combines voice communication, CCTV surveillance, IP-based public address, and voice logging into a single platform, improving coordination and response efficiency.
It also features AI-powered noise filtering to eliminate background disturbances like train horns, ensuring clear communication between staff.
Additionally, the technology allows centralized monitoring of gate cameras and supports better situational awareness across the railway network.
