Owaisi Targets Assam Govt, Backs AIUDF in Election Campaign

Asaduddin Owaisi, campaigning in Assam for the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), launched a strong attack on the BJP-led state government and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Owaisi accused the government of divisive politics and targeting minorities, stating that governance should uphold constitutional values. He dismissed the BJP’s focus on Badruddin Ajmal as Chief Minister, saying the real issue is ensuring rights and representation for the poor and marginalised.
He also criticised eviction drives, alleging lack of due process and stressing that legal procedures must be followed.
Taking aim at Congress, Owaisi said defections have weakened the party, raising concerns over representation of minority voices.
With AIUDF contesting 30 seats, Owaisi expressed confidence in challenging the BJP and is set to address multiple rallies across key districts ahead of the April 9 Assembly elections.
