Assam Moves Supreme Court Against Bail to Pawan Khera

The Assam government has approached the Supreme Court challenging the Telangana High Court’s order granting one-week transit anticipatory bail to Congress leader Pawan Khera.

The bail was granted in a case filed in Guwahati over Khera’s allegations against Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s wife. The High Court allowed him temporary relief with conditions, including cooperation with the investigation and seeking regular bail in Assam.

Khera had alleged undisclosed foreign assets and passports linked to the Chief Minister’s wife. Following this, a case was registered under multiple legal provisions. The Supreme Court is expected to hear the matter soon.
