Gunfire Reported at ULFA-I Chief Paresh Baruah’s Residence in Dibrugarh

Unidentified miscreants allegedly fired two rounds near the residence of ULFA-I chief Paresh Baruah in Dibrugarh’s Chabua area late Sunday night. No injuries were reported.

Family members said the attack was not captured on CCTV despite security presence, raising concerns over safety lapses. Security personnel stated the shots appeared to be fired from a distance, and no cartridges were found.

The incident occurred shortly after the return of ULFA(I) leader Arunoday Dohotia from Myanmar, adding to security concerns. Authorities are yet to issue an official statement, and an investigation is expected.
