Power Worker Electrocuted While Repairing 11,000-Volt Line in Jorhat

A power department worker, identified as Mahabir Kurmi (55) of Bagdia in Titabor, died after being electrocuted while repairing an 11,000-volt power line near Devakumar Bora Auditorium in Titabor on Wednesday.

Reports alleged that the power supply was not shut down during the repair work, leading to the fatal accident. The Titabor electrical subdivision SDO confirmed that the line had not been disconnected in time, stating that the mishap could have been avoided with a proper shutdown.
