Centre Denies Reports of Petrol, Diesel Price Hike

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas on Thursday dismissed reports claiming a possible increase in petrol and diesel prices, stating that no such proposal is under consideration.

The ministry termed the reports “misleading” and accused them of creating unnecessary panic among citizens.

It also said India remains among the few countries where fuel prices have not increased in the last four years despite fluctuations in global crude oil prices.
