Crackers, Victory Processions Banned Near Guwahati Vote Counting Centre

The Kamrup (Metro) district administration in Guwahati has imposed strict restrictions around the Maniram Dewan Trade Centre ahead of vote counting on May 4.

District Magistrate Swapneel Paul banned crackers, victory processions, sloganeering and celebratory gatherings within a 200-metre radius of the counting centre to ensure peaceful and smooth counting.

The order, issued under the BNSS, will remain in force throughout the counting day, and authorities warned that violators will face legal action.
