NFR, IIT Guwahati Join Hands to Develop Smart Railway Safety System

The Northeast Frontier Railway has signed an MoU with Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati to develop an advanced railway safety and monitoring system.

The new plug-and-play technology will use GPS, sensors and smart cameras to monitor train movement and track conditions in real time. The system aims to detect faults quickly, improve maintenance and reduce accidents and delays.

Officials said the project will help make railway operations safer, smarter and more efficient across the network.
