Under-Construction Bridge Partially Collapses in Assam’s Barak Valley

A portion of an under-construction bridge over the Jatinga River in Assam’s Borkhola collapsed after heavy rainfall caused the river to swell. The incident occurred near Purandarpur village, raising concerns over the quality of construction work.

Locals demanded an inquiry into possible negligence and use of poor-quality materials. The bridge project, worth around Rs 10.77 crore, is currently under construction by the PWD.
