Over 23,000 Affected by Urban Floods in Assam

More than 23,000 people have been affected by urban floods in Assam following heavy rainfall across several districts. According to ASDMA, Kamrup Metro, Sribhumi and Cachar were hit, with Cachar being the worst affected.

No deaths were reported, while rescue teams saved 53 stranded people in Sribhumi. The IMD has issued an orange alert for four districts and a yellow alert for 20 others, warning of more heavy rain and thunderstorms in the coming days.
